President
Scott Christian Higher Secondary School is more than an institution — it is a heritage shaped over 200+ years by visionaries who believed in the power of education to transform lives. I stand today as a grateful beneficiary of that legacy. The values, discipline, and guidance I received here continue to anchor my journey, and I remain indebted to the dedicated teachers, staff, and fellow students who shaped those formative years.
To the present students: you are the torchbearers of this proud tradition. Walk with confidence, stay committed to excellence, and make the most of the opportunities this great institution provides. The world respects those who honour their roots while striving boldly toward the future.
My sincere appreciation to the Headmaster, Correspondent, teachers, and staff for strengthening the institution every year.
I also extend my heartfelt thanks to the Executive Committee, Board Members, and especially Dr. C. Alex Jeevadhas, whose tireless efforts in the last six months have played a vital role in reviving our school and restoring its momentum.
As President, I am humbled by the responsibility entrusted to me. I pledge to work with commitment and integrity so that Scott Christian Higher Secondary School earns its place among the nation’s distinguished institutions and shines on the global stage.
Dr. C. Alex Jeevadhas, MVSc, FSMS
Secretary
Greetings to all members of the Scott Christian Higher Secondary School Alumni Association!
With pride and responsibility, I extend my heartfelt thanks to our alumni for supporting our alma mater. Over the past decade, our school, once a beacon of academic excellence and sports achievements with over 1500 students, saw enrollment decline to 343 students in 2024.
Recognizing the urgency, the Alumni Association, in collaboration with the Headmaster and School Administration, implemented a structured four-phase plan:
Arrest – Revive – Build – March Forward
Thanks to alumni participation, enhanced school visibility, and a focused admission campaign, we have arrested the decline. Enrollment has now risen to 405 students, a positive milestone in recent years.

Social impact
The mission schools were instrumental in literacy, social mobility, and producing leaders in public service and science from the district.
Continuity
The same missionary initiative that began a seminary in 1809 developed into the school & college complex (Scott Christian School + Scott Christian College), giving the institution a continuous educational legacy.
Foundations

- 1818–1819: The central school moves to Nagercoil (Vetturnimadam).
- 1819 becomes widely accepted as the founding year in Nagercoil.
