Annual General Body Meeting 26.9.27.
Scott Christian Higher Secondary School Alumni Association
Dear Fellow Office Bearers, Distinguished Alumni, and Dear Friends,
It gives me great joy to welcome you all to our Annual General Body Meeting.
Our Association has a proud heritage, and our responsibility today is not merely to remember the past, but to strengthen the institution we inherited and leave it better for the generations that follow.
Over the coming period, I would like us to focus on a practical Campus Improvement and Student Development Roadmap.
Our Campus Priorities
- Multi-Purpose Sports Arena – Transform the hostel ground into a properly developed sports and activity arena.
- Joshua Hall – Develop it as a multi-purpose hall and retreat/activity centre.
- Rest Rooms – Renovate and provide clean, hygienic and basic modern amenities.
- Alumni Academy – Strengthen the Alumni Academy for mentoring, skills, career guidance and student development.
- Assembly Area / Quadrangle – Improve the area with interlocking and better usability.
- Computer Laboratory – Strengthen hardware, connectivity and digital learning facilities.
- Library – Modernise and strengthen the library with books, resources and digital access.
- Admissions – Work with the school to improve student admissions and communicate the strengths of our institution more effectively.
- Classroom Infrastructure – Gradually improve classrooms, furniture, learning facilities and the overall learning environment.
Beyond Infrastructure
Our responsibility should also extend beyond buildings.
We should discuss and decide collectively whether we need:
- An annual Christmas Get-Together for alumni and families.
- An Alumni Association Calendar to maintain our identity and connection throughout the year.
- Sports Camps / Summer Camps for our students.
- A stronger support system for hostel students, including mentoring and welfare.
- A continuous Clean & Tidy Campus Programme, involving students, teachers and alumni.
These are not merely projects. They are opportunities to build a stronger relationship between the school, its students and its alumni.
From Memories to Meaningful Action
We all carry memories of this great institution. But our greatest tribute to our school is not simply talking about what it was.
Let us work together to make it even better than what we remember.
I would like this General Body Meeting to be a beginning—not of promises, but of priorities, ownership, partnerships and measurable action.
Let every project have a clear purpose, responsible persons, a practical budget and a realistic timeline.
Our school has a heritage of more than two centuries.
- Let us preserve the heritage.
- Let us improve the campus.
- Let us strengthen the students.
- Let us build the future.
With that spirit, I welcome all your suggestions, participation and support.
Together, let us make our Association a meaningful bridge between the heritage of Scott Christian Higher Secondary School and the future of its students.
